Farmers Pot


  • 1lb potatoes (cut and cubed)

  • 2 red pepper

  • 3/4 cup sweet corn

  • 1 red onion

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • About 1lb ground beef

  • 1 tsp tomato paste

  • 2 cups Mama Sinmi’s Red Sauce

  • 2 cups vegetable broth

  • 1/2 ginger

  • Red pepper flakes

  • 1 tab Paprika

  • Rosemary leaves

  • Sour cream or fresh cream (optional)


  • Heat the oil in a large saucepan. Add onions and cook until soft. Add your ground beef. Add red pepper flakes, paprika, ginger, and tomato paste and cook for about 2 minutes.

  • Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes. Wash the bell pepper, remove the seeds, and dice. Peel and chop the onions. Add potatoes and red bell peppers into the pot. Add Mama Sinmi’s Red Sauce and your vegetable broth. Bring to a boil then simmer for about 25 minutes until everything is cooked. Season with salt, pepper if needed. Garnish with rosemary leaves and a dollop of sour cream or crème fraîche.
